I'm still hashing out a swap. If using a peep, was sight picture pretty much the same whether set to say 30 or 80yds? I don't see having to change anchor point..,

I don't worry about lining up my peep with my sight housing. I put the pin in the center of my peep and pull the trigger.

I line it up. I think of it as another part of my rear sight, if you will.

I never saw the need in lining up my housing on multi-pin sights, either. Just seemed like common sense to me, pick a pin and put it in the center of the peep.

There is an advantage of using the sight ring vs centering the pin with multi-pin sights...I've done both, both will work, currently use the sight ring...

The advantage is consistency, same anchor point, same bow arm position and bending at the waist to put the pin on target...If you think about it, there is no way to place your top pin in the center then the bottom pin in the center without changing your anchor point or your bow arm position....

kodiak06, the best way to achieve lining up your peep with your sight housing is by getting a sight with a dovetail extension and slide your sight in or out until your diameters line up. It is a fine tune if u will, but thats why people refer to the 1 pin sight housings as scopes. Its just like looking thru a rifle scope when u have everything aligned, u will just barely see the outside of the sight housing thru your peep, but not all the other stuff. Not a great way do explain it, but maybe u get the point. Robinhedd

I've never had an issue with centering my pins. I don't change my anchor point, either. I never saw the need to add another step of lining up a sight housing when it wasn't needed.

I didn't either when I did it (centering the pin)...I was just pointing out there is no way to do it without changing your form...changing anchor point or raising/lowering your arm. Something has to move/change to get your pin in the center.
