Geezer, I've got one put up, can't even remember what model it is. Don't have any ammo for it.

When I got my 280 in the early 90's I thought it was odd I didn't know anyone else that had one. I have hunted with my K-31 Swiss 7.5x55.

I've got a Steyr Mannlicher model 1895 cavalry carbine from WWI... straight pull bolt action fed with an inbloc clip. It shoots the 8x56r round and at about 6 pounds and about as long as a Mini-14 it is one hell of a boom stick! But finding rounds for it is a beitch...

It's impressive technology from only 30 years after the American Civil War.

I had a Savage .225 I shot a lot of deer with back in the day. Gave it to one of my son-in-laws about 20 years ago.

Just curious;what's not efficient about .257 Bee?

It uses almost twice the powder of a 25-06 but not too much faster.

I got a .35 Whelen that was my only rifle for several years. It's been from the Arctic to Africa and several points in between. It will be with me to the end. On the other end of the spectrum, I took my biggest deer, and several others, with a 6.5x55.

Sig Sauer, to hell and back reliable.

Whatever suits you just tickles me plum to death.

Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?

I've killed deer and hogs with the following "oddballs" ( OK the WinMags are not odd just not common around here).

Rifle: .264 Win, .338 Win, 30-30AI, 7 TCU
Handgun: .30 Herret, .357 Herret, .375 Win

I have a 7-30 barrel in both pistol and rifle lengths and hope to add it to the list soon.

"Cull" is just another four letter word...

Actually 30% more than 25-06; a few bucks worth of powder in a season is insignificant to the cost of hunting. But; nothing wrong with a 25-06.

If I'm shooting oddball calibers chances are I'm not worried about how much powder a load takes!

Also have a set of dies for the .357 Maximum. Only guns I ever knew of chambered for this were a Dan Wesson revolver and a T/C Contender. I had the latter.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

350 Remington Magnum ,6mm and 257 Roberts . I love oddball calibers, the 350 Remington is obsolete , no factory ammo is loaded for it .
