Do any of yall hunt with an obsolete or uncommon round? I know some ppl enjoy antique rifles and/or odd calibers. The closest thing to obsolete I've used is 264 win mag and 6mm. Both are still available in factory rounds, so I wouldn't call them obsolete. I would be interested in a 6mm-223. Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?

It may have been the old red recoil pad or the design of the stock. He also had a 7mm Weatherby about that time and i don't remember it having near the recoil of the 264. Turkey 10 point T Joined: Dec 2012 Posts: 3,492 Coosa County	Back in the mid 80's, I bought a Model 7 in 6mm Remington. This is a round Remington brought out to compete with the .243 Winchester. It is a .243 with a slightly steeper shoulder angle, so it holds slightly more powder. You can still buy the ammo, but I'm not aware of any rifles still offered in this round.

I don't remember what the other ones were, but I just remember them being slightly "off" from a normal caliber. Anyone else's memory better than mine on that? "You think I care?
