Anybody have an idea of how I could find the numbers of a piece of property without a plat book or having to go the courthouse? Pretty sure I know who owns it.

Several Alabama counties have that info on line. For instance, to find Coosa county, I'd Google Coosa Alabama gis. I will tell you if the property has recently changed hands it may not be accurate.

I'm pretty sure you can find out who owns it if you block the road with your truck and leave a beer can trail to the nearest plot and set up a few targets and blast away for awhile. grin

You probably should take Turkeys advice.

Yep. I've found several property owners on county web sites.

It's helped me find awesome public land spots that I thought were private land. That's how I got on the deer I killed this year. I found more good spots since I've had it than I did in ten years of normal scouting.

You might be able to search online. I wanted to find owner of Crenshaw county property and found it searching property appraiser website. I forget if it was on that same website or it took me to another website with GIS maps and I used satellite view to find the property. Found the owner information clicking on the map. I don't know if all AL counties have this but Crenshaw did have online. That's how I found out a hunt club president was a liar and a thief. It's great when you can find property owner information online.

This site has a bunch of alabama counties. http://www.alabamagis.com/

There are other providers that counties use. Some handle their stuff in house.

If you need help, pm me. Alabama is actually ahead of some places in web based information (I'm looking at you Mississippi).

Looks like Greene county doesn't have anything listed. I can see owners listed in other counties.

Xhunt app you can trial it for 7 days free. Long enough to get your info.
