The maxima reds are fine arrows. I shot them for awhile. I just couldn't get past that they are made in Korea. So I went back to Gold Tip.

They produce some of the top Olympic archery equipment in the world. Having said that,I have no idea if those arrows are produced in the same factories that make their top of the line Olympic equipment. I just wanted to say not to let the fact that they are made in Korea make you think they are third world quality.

I switched to FMJ's this year, and to say I'm displeased is an understatement. For all the hype, they are the least durable arrows I've ever shot. The reason I went to them was to increase my arrow weight. Next year I will be going with a gold tip kinetic, or something along those lines. I've been through about a dozen fmj's since I tuned my bow to them in september. and I haven't been shooting that much since then. They break, crack, bend etc. Not only that, but I've found that many will develop dimples in the aluminum sleeve, without ever nocking them against another arrow. Don't tell me that, I just bought some of those about 2 weeks ago.

Gold Tips & Beman ICS Hunter's are my go-to's. I inadvertently shot a GT through something in my backyard that I wasn't supposed to, and it withstood the impromptu durability test marvelously. They're very tough arrows.

I had one snap off 2" from the tip, on the 3rd or 4th shot ever, into a bag target. Had one that split in half shooting into a target. Then have quite a few that have creases in the aluminum, that have just appeared over time, and I shoot individual dots on a target, so it isn't from shooting groups.

That's really odd, I've shot them for the past 5 years or so and have never had an issue and I shoot a lot. I'm still shooting a few of the original ones I bought 5 years ago and they are fine. Here's the kicker though, a friend of mine that has been shooting them for a few years with no issues bought a new dozen this past fall and had one snap just above the insert. I'll see if I can find a picture.
