Any of yall like me, and would rather climb than shooting houses, ladders, etc. I'll climb right next to a shooting house. I like the open air i guess. Plus my summit is so comfortable i sit alot longer. I always find sign and look for a tree if not any then plan b, but just wondering if there's a few climber addicts like me.

Yep...I don't care for ladder stands or lock-ons/

Depends on the situation. I use climbers, loc-ons, ladders and shooting houses.

Less and less climbers, ladders sure are easy smile . I just can't make myself bow hunt out of a ladder though.

I prefer a lock on or climber over a ladder, but do use ladders. I prefer them all over a shooting house.

I sit or stand on the ground. I get busted a lot more than when I used to hunt from above but it's a lot more fun to me.

I don't feel like I'm hunting unless I'm 20 ft or more up a tree.
You can't hear everything around you in a shooting house.

Life is too short to only hunt and fish on weekends!

Climber all the way unless I'm hunting some thick stuff then I'll bring my sticks and a lock on but it goes and comes out with me

Considering I have 3 different summits, I think I prefer climbing. Been thinking about moving to a mobile hang on setup for one of my hunting spots though. Anybody made that transition?

I don't give a rip what it is. I'm hunting in whatever is hanging closest to the hottest sign.

It must be nice to have all of these trees to climb. My place is mostly pines that aren't even close to being ready to climb. There are several smz's and we use those, but I sure ain't gonna climb on the edge of a field when there is a shooting house or ladder already there. It pays to be quiet and slip out of a field after dark and not be shining a light and banging a stand together trying to get out of the woods. As far as hunting the woods, I'll climb most of the time, and enjoy doing it.

I climb most of the time, but having a whole bunch of lock ons already put out is pretty dang nice!

I use lock ons but have been climbing a lot more this year for the same reasons you listed. I just don't like the ladders staying in the woods all the time. I've had deer walk in and look straight up at the stand even though it's been in the same spot for years.

I also like facing into the wind. With the climber, I can set it up for any wind direction. Like you, I also find I stay a lot longer if I'm in the climber. I only use Summits.

I have a tree that all i can climb is six foot off the ground, i probably killed twenty deer out of that tree. I get nestled up in the leaves and watch a whiteoak tree. The "Killin Tree" i call it. Lol

I prefer to climb but don't mind loc ons or ladder stands. I hate shooting houses. I don't feel like I can hear as good out of them

Give me a lockon or ladder any day. A climber is a hassle unless you don't have a stand up.

My buddy always got on me, we had a powerline with shooting houses on it and i always brought my climber. He would say theres a shooting house 30 yards away. It doesnt scare deer away, just be quiet. I love sitting 30 foot up a tall pine tree watching a cutover. I have carried my stand up a ladder stand before and climbed extra fifteen feet so i could see better. It was the only tree around.
