I don't think Kaul really exists anymore. I did have a lease on one of their old parcels but let it go. I paid the lease to a bank in Birmingham; don't remember which one.

The Kaul Foundation property is managed by Regions Bank.

Thanks for the replies. I know, looking at the GIS map, there is a lot of property marked as owned by the Hugh Kaul Foundation. Just trying to find a contact. I've got a couple of guys with leases looking for the contact info.

That's interesting that you call it the Kaul Foundation. The ownership map I have of Coosa County shows all the old Kaul land as belonging to "John Green and Amsouth Bank."

Of course, Regions took over Amsouth, so it makes sense they would control the leases now. But do you know the relationship of John Green to the Kaul Foundation? I thought all the Kaul land had been divided among the heirs, but that may be bad info.

I really don't know. You know where I live. If you look at the Coosa GIS site around the old saw mill south of here, it's listed as stated earlier. I really have no idea how accurate this info is.

I would suspect the GIS info is more up to date than the map booklet I have. It was probably just a legal change for tax purposes or something. I used to deal with a guy named Frank Harris on my lease. I have no idea if he is still there. Todd Adams, the county commissioner, has a lease with them. You could call him and find out

I know one thing - it was sure a blessing that for more than 20 years I was able to get a permit to hunt all of Kaul's land free. And you could also get a free permit to cut firewood on their land. Could cut all the hardwood you wanted; just don't bother the pines. Those days are long gone.

Good luck on finding out what you need

Now don't be talking about the Chairman of our County Commision.
