left town, gone on vacation or gone vegetarian. I'm seeing more fawns than I have in years. Yesterday afternoon I sat on a green field on the back of my property that's on a big double powerline. Always had a lot of deer in the area, but some years saw very few fawns. Yesterday I saw 6 does that had 9 fawns with them. A few fawns still had spots but most had lost them.
I haven't killed but a couple of does there in the last several years because of the lack of fawns. I just don't shoot does with fawns. Looks like I'm going to have to whack some of the young does without fawns. I'm more of a watcher than a hunter at this spot and leave the does alone waiting for big daddy.
It's a good problem to have but you can have too many deer in a particular location.

I haven't heard them as much over here either. I to have seen a lot of fawns this year. I hunt in Pike and Bullock counties though. The thinning of the doe heard may be leaving more healthy mothers and fawns. Kind of like tree that is stressed produces more fruit to insure the survival of the species.

It be's that way sometimes.

I've got a lease just west of Grady and there's no shortage of coyotes around it. I heard several sound off in different directions Tues. around dark. I have another property south of Ada and there's plenty of coyotes there also. I think they move around

They probably do. Those suckers will get close to the house after dark on a really cold night but I haven't heard a lot from them lately.

I think they move around sometimes to follow high populations of rabbits and such. I've noticed over the years in several places lots of rabbits= lots of coyotes. When you see less rabbits you see less coyotes. May be wrong just an observation.

They have been having nightly concerts down here at my camp! I think it's an annual convention or something. I need a thermal!
