Yeah. We get a 60 day season, regardless of how they split it up.
Yeah, well, I always heard there were three kinds of suns in Kansas: sunshine, sunflowers, and sons-of-bitches.

Doesn't it normally open the day after Thanksgiving?

I don't have water and have to work Friday. The season has opened on Thanksgiving for years now. I was looking forward to hunting this year until I seen they changed the opening day to Friday.

Opens Friday but it looks terrible in my area, I seriously have not seen this few ducks in over 15 years, it's been since before I was in high school that I seen it this bad, how is everyone else's duck numbers looking? I hunt the lake and went riding around looking for a good spot and didn't see but just very few canvas and a few buffleheads. Maybe I just wasn't looking in the right spot but I don't know.

The river was loaded up here a week ago. A friend that is a duck hunting buddy and a mussel diver called me with excitement, he's not now. Another friend called today and has been looking for a few days now, gonna check a few more locations tomorrow. It's not looking good.
I don't think I'll have water in my duck holes for a few weeks, if not longer.
The real bummer, a friend in Wisconsin, they shot at 1 duck Saturday. Says they have not seen a migration as of yet and I think their season just closed.

Whole bunch of bad weather hitting the Midwest. Hoping for another push in the next day or so....
I don't expect much. I'm happy with shooting a Woody limit with a Gadwall or Mallard thrown in

I think some of you all missed opening day for a few years. Duck season has opened on thanksgiving day for the past 10 years or so with maybe 1 year where it opened on Friday after thanksgiving. Heck, just last year duck season opened on thanksgiving day.

I had to work thanksgiving day the past 3'years. I was looking forward to going today. That was until I read this years season. I have to work Friday and Saturday this year.
I think this year opening on Friday probably has to do with ending the season as late as possible and still use are 60 days allotted by the Feds.

Opened in Arkansas last week and there were no ducks there.

Where were you hunting Driveby? My buddies place did well with limits opening day and lacked 2 to get the limit Sunday morning before leaving for Church. Close to Grubbs, AR. Talked with another guy, they were near Walnut Ridge and had 4 good days with limits every day but Tuesday. Otherwise heard what you stated. We killed 8 Mallards and Gadwalls on Tuesday, birds flew great till shooting time. We heard some good volleys in the Cache timber. There was a lot of water and we didn't see ducks where it's usually loaded down this time of year. It was a pretty sunrise though.

We are southeast of Searcy. There wasn't much going on at all in our area.
