Don't shoot it this year. It will be a real shooter next year.

A deer processor cant take it unless he is USDA certified. He will get in big trouble for that. I don't know if a butcher will take one that is dead when it gets there. They might, but, I would call ahead and find out.

Where are you, if Brandon is coming to help you, I want to see this. Hell, I have a rope. Do you have anywhere it could be contained? With some feed and a pen, you should be able to catch it without much trouble.

If you can rope it you can tie it's legs together and drag it on a trailer with a winch or a come along. Once you get a rope on it though you can usually take a rope and run it to the front of the trailer and force it in with a hot stick and a wheeler or horse pulling on the rope.

Well that was just retarded if you thought that was gonna work anyway.

In retrospect, I agree.

Don't think any processor will accept a dead cow.

I'm in Athens, there's a couple of certified processors nearby and the cow has to be alive when taken, I've had time to research this as it's been an ongoing problem!

Brandon bring a trailer!

Probably been eating wild onions for the past month and will taste like crap. Pen that thing in and finish him on some high protein feed, then take him in about a month.

Friend of mine had the same problem with a neighbor's horse getting in his green field. My friend kept warning him until he finally shot the horse and drug it to the guys house, dropping it off in his yard at the edge of the front porch.

Years ago a cow jumped my grandmothers fence and got in with her cows. She called the sheriff. He said to run adds in the paper and if no one claimed it after a period of time she could sell it. She fattened up and sold it. She held that money a long time. Being raised in the early 1900s she felt guilty about it.

My son lost some cows during a tornado that hit Lee County two years ago. One was dead and another was broken down that I remember. They had a man come and process both cows in the field. Jeremy told me they were something to watch. I don't remember if my son got any of the beef, or if they gave it all away to the processors to do it. The cows were in an oak flat and trees fell on them during the tornado.

I bet you can find someone close that will do this for you if you just ask. How long has it been since you priced T-Bone steaks in the meat department?

I have also had cows jump the fences here at the house and the owners never came to get them. We sold one just a few months ago we called Rosie that my son and grand daughter rode. We kept Rosie for about ten years and no one ever claimed her but my son. If they don't come get them, call someone with a trailer and forget about them.

A full grown un will choke down pretty quick on a horse. Choke it down and drag it on a trailer
