Jammed/sprained a couple fingers this morning. Knuckle joints where the fingers meet palm are swollen and sore as hell. Have virtually zero grip in that hand now and can't really do much with it.

So is it better to try to continually keep those fingers moving to try to keep them loose and work the soreness out, or would it be better to try to limit the movement as much as possible?

Also, ice or heat for a sprain?

Ice first 8 hours. Probably too late for that. Limit movement. 4 ibuprofen every 4 hours.

What they said. Ice em down three times daily and keep em wrapped rest of the time.

It's a sanctuary.

Will some Clorox that's used for stumps help with that pain?
Hope you get to feeling better soon.

It's a little bit better this morning. Gonna try to hunt this afternoon. Today will be my "opening day" and likely one of the few chances I'll get to hunt this year. We'll see how it goes...

A couple of months ago below Enterprise there was a log loader operator that had the ultimate jam. At the end of the day he was greasing the machine and he walked down the I-beam to the delimber end and slipped. When he tried to catch his self his thumb hit just right on the beam and actually pushed the bottom end of his thumb bone out thru the skin about and inch. He said at first it didn't hurt........

Limit movement and use an NSAID like Aleve. Aleve is the OTC for Naproxen, an anti-inflammatory.
