Settled in a ladder stand on a hardwood ridge. Oaks all around me raining acorns. Should be a good morning even though it's hot as all get out and I broke a sweat getting in the stand. Good luck to anybody else in the woods this morning!

I'm trying the interstate stand this morning. Hopefully something comes through here. I'm beginning to get frustrated!

Set up just inside the wood line off of a food plot in range of a big red oak dropping acorns. Really hope Furflyin can hunker down and get a lot done at work today. grin

Got off early this morning. So I decided to come sit on a greenfield running along a hardwood ridge. It's raining acorns right now. I had two does in the field when I walked in. Never blew or ran just kind of walked off.

Just had three does walk by that stayed in the thick stuff. Never had a shot. But that's three more than I've seen so far this season. Haha.

Sitting 23' up in a mixture of pines and oaks butting up against a 4 yr old cutover. Giving food plots a rest since youth hunt is coming up, nothing but a few squirrels and some geese over head so far.

Something to make you laugh..........

Got my Garmin Alpha unit yesterday. For those who don't know, it's a training shock collar for a dog. I got it all charged up and decided to try it out on myself first before starting to train Otis with it.....just so I would know what it was doing to him. It has different strengths of correction, or shock if you want to call it that, from 1-18. I turned everything to 1 and even double checked it. Im still not sure what happened. Maybe when I turned the collar on and it came online it triggered some different presets or maybe I bumped the touch screen accidentally, not surebut whatever in the hell happened..I held it in my hand and hit myself with a 12 out of 18 right out of the gate. Let me just say.thats startling when youre expecting a 1 and sends a jolt all the way to your elbow. I quickly threw the damn thing down and my first thought was Holy Chit!!! Thats a 1!!!!! shocked

So far this year has sucked about as bad as Helen Keller trying to give a speech! The deer have apparently packed up and left the county!

A shock collar and some wire run on the seat an office chair cushion is highly enjoyable to watch people jump. Just saying

Took the day off work but blew a tire at 4 AM on the interstate. Been watching the price is right at Goodyear ever since.

Forgot my harness so I scouted a bit to find some hot oaks at the farm rather than risk an unsafe climb. This weather ain't helping things either, looks like Sunday is going to be the day to hunt coming up.

Found an unauthorized feeder one of the trailer park residents put up, so I filled that target full of 10 rounds of 45acp and ripped it down. At least I got to shoot at something. Good luck to all sweating their nuts off.

Another sit here at LBL on a scrape line between two fields. I'm on one side of the ridge off a big field and my buddy is on the other side on another field. Saw some big boys last night riding around last night.

I'm set up in about an 8 acre section of woods right next to the main gate going in to the back part of the property. I'm 40 yards off the county road. There's a 7 or 8 year old thick ass cutover across the road behind me. The deer have a cow trail beat down across the powerline ROW coming in here. I'm between two swamp chestnuts that have recently started dropping and there's a lot of sign under them.

Back on the greenfield for another sit. Sweating pretty good in this 80+ degrees.

Hunting in a big bottom with scrapes and White Oaks. By the time I dry out it will be time to walk back out. Things us bow hunters do. cry

Set up on a small plot surrounded on three sides by 20 year old pines and a large 3 year old cutover on the other.

Been in the stand 5 minutes on edge of green field with 4 white oaks dropping, and already got a blow job.

Y'all have fun in this heat. Little to no movement for us yesterday or this a.m. and the thought of dealing with tracking and cleaning in this weather made it an easy call to get home a few hours early.

Oh I forgot, killed a small timber rattler about 30 minutes before getting in the stand. Makes you want to go tracking down in the woods at dark.

Ended up seeing 3 doe. Was going to shoot one but she had her fawn with her and the other one was only 60 lbs.

Only supposed to be 68 in the morning, think I'm going to head back early and skip tomorrow.

Thats a 1!!!!! shocked

Bowhunter84 and I played the shock collar game one night. Those things don't mess around...
