Waiting on this last bit of rain to pass and then headed into some red oaks dropping on the edge of cutover. First north wind in a while which will allow me to hunt a favorite spot. Taking pop with me spikes better watch out!!!!!!!! laugh

Good luck fellows. Hope yall get it done this morning. I didn't see any deer last night, maybe that means they'll be on their feet first thing this morning.

Decided to try the other side of the property this morning. Sitting in some hardwoods with a greenfield about 80 yards away. It is raining acorns here...can't believe there is any left on the trees after all the wind we had. 62 degrees and VERY humid.

Checking in from the ground blind. Lot of deer standing under acorn trees on the way to the camp this morning.

Present. I'm on the inside corner of a small cutover. Sitting amongst white and red oaks. Pines (bedding) about 100 yds away. Only turkeys and squirrels so far. Turkeys are vocal this morning, keeping me entertained.

Late but hunting before work. White oaks dropping on edge of green field.

Left of tree.

Right of tree.

Got up hill and to my tree and was sweating like a mule. Climbed the tree, pulled off my shirt to dry the sweat and sat down on my shirt. Settled in around 7:35. Just killed a doe before 8. Good morning. Now if I just had her to the truck.....

Way to go TR. Wish I was in a tree. In a tree with no deer is better than being at work.

*BUSTED*

Five sets of eyes (does) came in. I waited and got drawn on one. Waited too long for release, and another set of eyes I didn't see picked me up and blew.

Off they scattered like roaches from the light.

Guess I should go back to longbow, as its pull, touch corner of mouth, release, all in one motion.

Oh well, had my heart in the back of my mouth and pulse in the ears. So it's all good!!

Thank you Lord for Your beauty, and me being healthy enough to see it!!

Hanging on till nine, and gotta go.

God Bless,
David B.
