Funny, i started to start a thread just like this 2 weeks ago. I had gone 2-3 months with a daily headache. Now, i'd been hit by ticks 5 times this summer. The worst one was back in may, when i had to go get antibiotics. Headaches started in late july or august. I shrugged them off as allergy/stress/fatigue, but began to get concerned about lyme/rmsf. On 10/8, the headache was so bad i contemplated going to the er...called and got appt with dr. Diagnosed with "cluster headaches", no lyme or rmsf thankfully. Prescribed a pain med and muscle relaxers, as mine would start in my neck and push upwards. He told me it would take a while to break the "cycle". It did, i've been headache free for 3 days now...thank you Lord. I say all that to say...don't put off going to doc if your's persists more than a couple days. I thought i was being tough...turns out i was just being stupid. I have suffered with cluster headaches since my mid teens and I almost 40 now. Suffer does not even begin to describe a true cluster headache. They also known as "suicide headaches." I just went through a "cluster" about 2 months ago and it was the worst one I've ever had. The Imitrex injections work well for me. The Neurologist I saw also put me on a low dose blood pressure med which is acts as a preventative during the cycle. However the headaches are not related to BP at all and it's just coincidence that this med works for cluster headaches. Cluster headache sufferers are a rare breed as only about 0.4% of people have true cluster headaches. I feel for you and am glad you are through with the cycle.

I've suffered them most of my life and the week the tornadoes hit Tuscaloosa I was diagnosed with Celiac disease which means I have to be gluten free. I now only have migraines if I get "glutened". It's a tough lifestyle but I am medication free after taking 3 meds for 24 years. Being truly gluten free means I even have to ask all restaurants how they cook their foods and make sure they understand what it means. I have a few restaurants I trust and stick with them.

However the headaches are not related to BP at all and it's just coincidence that this med works for cluster headaches. some bp meds have calcium blockers in them which help reduce headaches
