My 13-year-old son is showing more interest in shooting and outdoors lately. I'm sitting in a chair in my little back room tying on fishing lures when he picks up the new ruger(unloaded, of course) and checks it out. I'm bent over tying a lure on when he says here dad and starts to hand it back my way. Before I can even look up it slips out of his hand and barrel brains me. I mean it freaking hurt. I saw birds and stars and some big old words came out of my mouth. I never been pistol whipped but I have been rifle whipped now. Thank goodness there was wine in the house for medicinal purposes.
