Are a nail or screw in a tire and a leaky valve stem the only reasons an otherwise good car tire should lose 10 PSI every five or six days? Do tires lose air other ways?

leaking around rim could also be an issue

How much mess and long-term trouble is that green Slime that's supposed to stop a leak?

Yea or Nay on the Slime?

Bad bead seal also.
Are they chrome wheels? Chrome wheels as they age can start causing bead sealing issues.

I have never used slime but I have heard it is hell to deal with from the tire shop perspective.

Someone playing a prank on you.

Stale air which loses it freshness, and poundage at a certain time. grin

I'd just take it to the shop tell them its leaking. They will find it and tell you.

I would take it to a tire shop or yourself pull it off and give it a good visual inspection.
Then a dunk tank and watch for bubbles.

If you just got them mounted as in past month or so you might consider taking it back to the shop as they'll likely do it for free or reduced cost to ensure you come back again.

tell the shop to check your tire air filters, if they get dirty the will let air leak out as a warning to get it fixed

I quit culling when I realized I was a cull

If the tire is dry rotted or cracked it can leak down. Just get some dish washing soap in water and pour it all over the tire. It will form bubbles where the air is escaping

As a mechanic I will tell you that your tires will fluctuate 6 to 9 pounds depending on the ambient temperature. Also new car tires are being filled with nitrogen indicated by a green cap on the valve stem. The nitrogen is supposedly not supposed to fluctuate.

If it's factory wheel then there is also a chance this fluctuating air is doing it. If it continues it might have a leak.

I'd use the soapy water in a spray bottle trick to find the leak then seal it. If you can't find it, Slime does wonders. I used Slime in several tires and they never leaked again.

Tire shops don't care for it as they say it's mess when they take the old tire off later on down the road, but I don't care. If I can seal it with a $10 bottle of Slime, then I will.

Works great on 4 wheelers but I wouldn't put it in a passenger vehicle tire.

Why not? Works great. I've even run it for thousands of miles in a rear motorcycle tire that was slowly leaking down.
