Had a nail come through the sole of my boot today. Stabbed me right center the front ball of my foot. It only drew a couple drops of blood, I expected it to look way worse. It really don't even look bad but The sumb*tc hurts, Feels like it hit bone and about Impossible to walk on.
My ole lady wants me to go to the doc, I try to stay away from them places.

Best get you a tetanus shot if you can't remember last time you did.

Tetanus shot and soak it in salt water or cider.

"Soak in in cider" took me until I was a teen to figure out what my grandpa was talking about, once I found that stuff I found the heal all.

Please DON'T soak your foot until you've seen a doctor who can determine how beneficial/detrimental the soak would be. And go get a tetanus shot. Tetanus is no fun. http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/tetanus/basics/definition/con-20021956The MD will likely want to put you on an oral broad spectrum antibiotic to prevent infection. This is a good thing. This is what you want. Hunting with a prosthetic leg will most likely be far less enjoyable than what you are currently able to enjoy. It doesn't look bad but I can't put any weight on it and My toes are stiff to move. Will any normal Dr office be able to give me a tetanus shot? I'll make a visit tomorrow a.m.

It will likely vary from office to office, but if you have an urgent care office close by, they should be able to fix you up. If you don't have access to an urgent care clinic, you can always go to the ER. I know they'll have what you need. In my experience, ER seems to be less crowded mid morning. So you might be able to go right on back. If you don't have a regular MD, now would be a good time to get established with one.

For some reason the thought of stepping on a nail gives me the chills worse than just about any other way of getting hurt. I don't know if the nail hit some kinda bone in my foot or just stabbed through the padding and muscle but it sure enough don't feel good.

A few years back I stepped on a nail and it went all the way through my foot. That hurt for sure but the painful part was having to pull my foot off of the nail.I will never forget that feeling.

I did that too about 8 years ago. Jumped over a fence in the yard and there was some old wood debris under the leaves left by the previous owner. BIG nail through my hiking boot, deep into the ball of my right foot. Could not pull it out on my own. Sat in the yard and hollered for my boys. My oldest brought me a big framing hammer. The way it was angled, I tried knocking it off but after three tries that didn't work anymore. I had to pry it off. I might have hollered and inadvertently taught my boys a curse word. Limped to truck and straight to Dr. office. They cleaned it, gave me a shot, tetanus shot, put me on antibiotics...couldn't hardly walk for a couple days.
Don't play..go to a doctor.

I stepped on several when I was a kid. I have stepped on a couple as an adult. They hurt. I think my worst nail injury to date was shooting a framing nail through my thumb while I was building my house. It was buried up to the head. It hurt going in, but it hurt worse when my dad pulled it out with 9" lineman pliers. I didn't go to the doctor. It bled enough to flush out any bacteria.
I get a tetanus shot every 4-5 years.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Don't play..go to a doctor. I'm sorry Mike but this made me laugh! I can just see your boy running to help daddy out with a 22 ounce Eastwing framing hammer to pull that nail out of your foot. I would have cussed a lot right then. Glad it worked out fine.

I saw a sign a Walgreen's saying that they gave tetanas shots. My grandmama in Louisiana always called them technical shots. I did too until the first time I got one and the doctor thought I was crazy when I told him that I had never had a technical shot. He finally understood what I was saying and corrected me.

I've never known anyone who actually got tetanus. Don't it lock your jaws or something? The soaking in cider reminds me of a dirty joke I once heard.

My uncle can work circles around most folks but it put him in the fetal position on his back. He hollered and screamed when you moved him the least bit. If he could have hit someone he would have many times. You could barely understand anything he said because his jaws were locked tight. A test they run is to put a stick to your tongue and if you have it you will lock down on it.

Better go to the doctor. My cousin stepped on a nail when we were kids messing around in an old abandoned house place. Four surgeries later to clean out severe infection and dying tissue and he was good as new. That's after they discussed amputating his foot if they couldn't get the infection under control.

my wife stepped on a nail, thru her shoe and cut her foot. She hadn't had a shot since 05', so she got one yesterday. Of course it was my fault she stepped on the board with a nail in it right in the middle of some stuff I was clearing.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Well fellas, I went and got that tetanus shot. I've been hobbling around on a bum foot all week but A bum foot is better then no foot.
