I think it is too early to talk bad about the Qb's at Bama. Last year Simms had 478 yards passing in 8 quarters with 2 Td and 1 Int. After two games this year Coker has 427 yards in 5

Coker will be OK.

Coker will do good I think. He did great his first game I thought. And I'd imagine they prepared more for ole miss this past week rather than strictly middle Tennessee.

He'll definitely have his hands full vs Ole Miss. I'm looking forward to this game!

But Sims could run and make plays with his feet. Coker looks like a lineman running when the pocket collapses.

Man, I have to say with how bad sims ticked me off at times...I felt a lot more comfortable with him as qb than coker...coker just takes freakin forever to throw the ball and is like sasquatch trying to escape pressure...Although, dominick jackson at RT didn't help coker much, he has had 2 years to develop a deep ball and has yet to complete one to our incredibly talented recievers...I just hope barnett lives up to the billing next year!!!

I agree, I felt WAAY more comfortable with Blake than I do so far with Coker. If this is as far as he has progressed then he's reached his potential and it's subpar for SEC football. I like Bateman's ability to scramble and feel pressure but his decision making is a work in progress. I am disappointed that neither are better prepared. I DO think if they had given Bateman a little better look early on he would have had the needed reps to really compete and may be the better guy 6-7 games in. It has that feel of a disappointing season with the QB situation and the special teams fiasco. No personal offense to Coker or anyone who may know him or his family. He seems to be a good kid but I think he's just in over his head. Hope he makes me eat Crow.

Most people were screaming that same exact things about Blake Sime last year until they saw him starting to succeed.

The special teams are "exceptional"....Coker needs to take a cue from the old JPW playbook and throw it to the pretty girl in the second row. He takes toooo long to make his reads. There's a reason he was backup to "pick Six" Winston and Blake Sims. If he is allowed to continue we are goping to see some nailbiting. Bateman can do it all...especially when you put him in with the 1's...
Other teams that run read option offenses actually RUN the QB...Bama very little...must do it to keep the D on their toes.

Run Derrick Run!!!

I just called Uncle Nick and he said he was gonna take your advice. Nick said he's getting older and doesn't get to go to practice as much any more because he likes hanging out at home with Miss Terry. He said he only goes to practice on Thursdays and that's just to get the Managers to wash his car so he doesn't actually get to see the players practice. Nick also said that the reason that Bateman worked with the receivers all Spring is because he's such an outstanding f-ing quarterback. Nick said the reason Bateman hit the MTSU defensive back between the numbers with one of his shitty passes was because he wanted the DB to intercept the ball so he(Bateman) could show off his speed and "run that sumbitch down".

And Harris (the rb) blew both away and had to stop to tackle him.

The harder I practice, the luckier I get.
