What were you catching the reds on?? Looks like a blast. Will they keep biting there throughout the summer?? Most of the fishing we have done for Reds there has been trolling with spoons on planners and spoons up top. Most of the Reds caught there will be bigger than the slot size but you can keep one over slot in Alabama. Best time for the monsters is October/November I believe.

We've always had the best luck for the big Reds late June through July. Caught most of em on big(6inch) croakers. ...I've never tried in Oct/Nov...by that time my mind always turned to other things.
Great on the Grill...leave the scales on and cook about 4 min's flesh side down then about 8-10 scale side down.

What were you catching the reds on?? Looks like a blast. Will they keep biting there throughout the summer?? We usually catch them on croakers or pinfish. Just drift from say 28' to 14'. Once you find the right drift line mark the spot on your gps and have fun. We catch then their from April thru early November pretty consistently.

Great on the Grill...leave the scales on and cook about 4 min's flesh side down then about 8-10 scale side down. I've caught em in that area all summer and into the early fall. Large pin fish, croakers, or even large chunks of cut mullet work well. The BP method above is exactly how I cook them as well. I like to put a little smoke wood on the grill with them also.
