How do you decide which docks to fish? Do they need to be in deep water or close to the main river channel? I fis Wilson Lake and seldom fish in the fall but would love to know how to catch them around docks. I just need some pointers on where to start looking.

The docks or boathouses that produce best for me are the older ones constructed of wood and in 10 ft. of water or more. The wood tends to attract more algae which attracts more baitfish, therfore more crappie. The more shade or the darker it is under a dock or boathouse the better the chance of getting a thump or twitch on your line. The water temps have dropped some the past few days and fish seem to be more aggressive. Brought 60 good quality crappie home today. Had several that were 1 1/4 lb or bigger. Gotta love that thump. [img:center]http:// http://s989.photobucket.com/user/skip64/...?sort=3&o=0[/img] What part of the lake do you mostly shoot docks on if you don't mind me asking?

What part of the lake do you mostly shoot docks on if you don't mind me asking? No specific area. Older looking wooden docks or boathouses with 10 ft. of water or more is what I target. Keep the sun in front of you as much as possible.
