Though I didn't manage to bag any last year, I did finally manage to at least *find* a few squirrels towards the end of last season. I never saw a rabbit though.

Any tips for finding rabbits without a dog, on public land in the Huntsville vicinity?

I'm interested in this as well. I never went last year, but my friend and I are planning on trying to go get some rabbits this season coming up.

I know I've seen stuff on Wheeler, but I know that gets a lot of traffic once their season starts.

I'd be down, but I'm always looking for others to hunt with. No one in my family hunts and I'm self taught. So any help is good help!

I bet I saw 20 rabbits while bush hogging Friday pm. My place is only 40 acres but it's set up to hunt cotton tails. And I have access to 500 more acres adjoining me. I'd be up for hosting a Feb rabbit hunt.

We hunt small tracts all the time. On our old club, there were several 4-5 acre blocks we hunted and it worked out well. Our dogs are fairly slow, so small areas work fine.

Just built a new shop that'd be perfect for a stew after the hunt.

I'd be all in for a Feb (or anytime really) rabbit hunt over dogs. I've always wanted to but have never had the chance, or knew anyone with dogs.
