Its an eye guard. They are awesome!! Especially for kids. But it also helps in low light. Allows you to block out any outside light and protect your eye when the gun kicks. Perfect for kids or new hunters to feel confident staying on target.

I can vouch for the gun, great rifle. The contraption on the end of the scope, on the other hand, I can not but it seems like a neat little deal thumbup

I'd imagine that if a shooter were to do his part then this rifle would be a deer killing machine. .243 is a great round for kids to get started with. Hell, I killed a nice 8 point waaaaay back on 12/31/90 @ 212 yards with a .243 I borrowed the day of. He went maybe 40 yards total and piled up.
