Me and a friend have been going on paid hunts for the past couple of years and decided our money would be better spent on one of the fund raiser type school hunts this year. Anyone have any info on some that are still available? Whatcha got???

Won't say it is the best, but it is certainly one of the better ones. Good land and people.

Any private school in the blackbelt would be a good one.

If I was gonna go on one for a chance to kill a nice buck and see plenty of deer I would
Definitely check out the Wilcox Academy hunts. I know some people that used to host
Land for these hunts and there's no shortage of deer and bucks to be seen. I don't think
You would be disappointed.

Just pm Swamphunter. He can hook you. If you watch the Sportsmanship Channel you have probably watched some shows from his property. Especially if you like to watch Leigh and Travis. This is probably one of the best charity hunts in the state. Hope this helps.

Figure out what county in south Alabama you want to hunt and then check into what private schools are in that county. Almost all of the schools where the landowner's children or grandchildren go to school have a benefit hunt these days.

County isn't really important. I just would like to have a good experience and hopefully make some new friends while getting to see a few deer and get away from the norm for a few days.

This Monroe Academy's registration from last year. The 2015 registration should be up soon.

I know Marengo Academy used to have one. It used to be pretty big but not sure now. Check out their Facebook page or contact the school.

If you do the Morgan hunt make sure to let me know so I can meet you. I know one other Aldeer regular that will be there also. I don't have any say in who goes on whose land, but I'll put in a word with the coordinator on trying to get you on some great land that I think you would really like.

Never been on a school hunt, but have hunting up there for over 30 years. Union Springs is full of good hunting and good people, so I don't see how you could go wrong.

I would encourage you to look onto the Lowndes Academy School hunt as well. I guide for that hunt and can give you any information you may need. We have a number of hunters from Virginia and Georgia that have been coming for years. A guy from Virginia killed a 195 pound 7 point hunting with me last year. When I heard him shoot, I sent him a text asking him if it was a good one. He said, "Its a good one to me!" That's all that counts. We try to ensure our hunters have a great time and enjoy the experience. Our hunt is headquartered at the Southern Sportsman Lodge near White Hall. Our hunters are housed at various hunting camps throughout Lowndes County. I think we still have some openings for this years hunt.
