I was on my afternoon run down the dead end road beside my house yesterday afternoon and spotted a baby fawn crossing a powerline cut. Was nice to see right behind the house. Im guessing the momma was bread around 3rd week in December, which sounds about right for my area, This in southwest Tuscaloosa county.

I have been seeing a bunch the last two weeks. Saw two in the pasture this afternoon that looked like they were over a month old. My dad was bush-hogging in front of this house this morning ( which is about four miles as a crow flies) and saw one that he said looked to only be a couple of days old. He said it could barely walk. Most hit the ground around here mid July-mid Aug.

They should be dropping any day now here in Macon Co....Does were still carrying as of a couple nights ago. We've got a late January rut. I don't think we have any breeding taking place until starting around the 20th.

I saw an old doe the other day that had two fawns that probably weighed 40 or so pounds, no spots. No telling when they were born or when the doe was bred. no spots, had to be early May fawns.....

Dad bush-hogging again today saw two that only had one or two spots. Same property that he saw one that was just born just a few days ago. Crazy!

Had a little one bedded 75yds from the house yesterday. That doe keeps her fawns within a 100 yds of the house every year. I guess she's figured out the yotes don't come that close.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!
