I hate to do it but I need to find a new home for my chocolate lab. I am closing on my house on August the 6th and I am gonna be in between houses and I won't have anywhere to keep him. He is a year and a half old and full blooded with no papers. He is not housebroken because he is an outside dog but he always does very good when I bring him in. I have tried to train him to retrieve ducks but he is not crazy about going into the water when it's cold and is not very birdy but would make a very good family pet. He has a great temperament and is good with kids, he is fully obedience trained. He knows here, heel, sit, down, stay, place, and kennel commands and will do them the first time every time. He also knows the here/heel whistle command. He loves to fetch dead ducks and bumpers but he is not all that into wounded ducks. He is also not the least bit gun shy. He would actually be an awesome retriever if you hunted dry fields or water less than cod sack deep.

Sitting here talking to the wife about it now. As you know that is the brother to my dog. If he was house trained it would be no question. I'm just not sure how hard he would be to train at 1.5 years Not hard at all. Get him. Do I need to ask Amanda for you??

Josh, I don't think it would be hard at all. The only thing he has ever chewed up is his water bowl. He has never used the bathroom inside and I have had him in the house all night probably 10 times. Sucker just wants to get in the bed with you.

Sucker just wants to get in the bed with you. That getting in bed is going to be hard with another 80lb spoiled rotten critter already there. I'll end up sleeping on the couch while Amanda and The 2 dogs got the bed. And yeah DW I'm gonna need your help convincing her. I'm honestly very tempted but I'm just not sure I want 2 80lb dogs in the house all the time, if it wasn't from the same litter as Cooper I wouldn't even think about it.

Talk to her about it and see what she says. I want you to be sure about it though.

I've got a buddy looking for one. This would be right up his alley. Lives on about 50 acres with a big pond and 2 kids. Let me know.

I got chocolate I would give away. He is a pet, but he chases the sheep, if left alone. Other than that he isn't a problem. very kid friendly.
