In my younger days I felt pretty good in a bar fight, but I wouldn't last 30 seconds in the ring with her. I don't know if I'd mind wrestling with her for a while though.

She is the toughest woman on the planet.That said, a mid level MMA male in the same weight class would destroy her. It's kind of like watching women's basketball knowing it's the same game as mens but not remotely the same level of competitors.

Y'all do realize that yes she is a bad ass women with skills, but she still only weighs about 135 lbs and the reporter she flipped probably only outweighed her by twenty or thirty pounds and basically let her get in the perfect judo position to do just what she did.....

You put most athletic men with some training that outweighed her by say 100 to 150lbs and it is not going to be that easy for her. She had better get in a submission hold quick....

Judo and ju jitsu uses the opponents weight against them. If you are trained in mixed martial arts you'd kill her. If you are just a boxer or just think you're a bad arse, she'd kill you.

I agree with most of that unless the boxer landed one on the chin before she could get him off his feet. Honestly the judo would not worry me near as much as the ju jitsu skills those are the real size equalizer. Pressure points and the use of joints can be a game changer when used and applied properly.

I'd have her cooking and cleaning for me in 1 round.

When I went through military police school we had a female marine that was trained in judo. She was pretty impressive. That girl could do more pull ups then a lot of the guys. They paired he with a guy her size and she killed him the entire time lol, but I also witnessed her get thrown around by some guys too. Either way though she was one of the few women I saw in the military that could hold her own and would want fighting with me

That's three days in a row I've read a post that made me genuinely laugh out loud!!!

Now shes got a mean arm bar and can roll real good, but i knew a black woman named martha Mcgee (edward mcgee's wife)that would mop the floor with her. Marth probably had 80 pounds or more on her though. Doekiller right though. There's some women at tutwiler that would put some of y'all in a dress.

All that agility and skill works real good when you are standing in a ring ,playing by the rules and taking legal shots against each other. It all goes to pot when you are in a bar or tight spot and some mean as hell guy 100 lbs heavier jumps on you and you are flat on your back with him on top. Best you can hope for is if, and I say a big if, you can manage to get some sort of leverage hold before you get knocked out.

Rolling around doing all the moves on the mat and the guy 'letting' her flip him doesn't mean flip.
Put her against any fly weigh ufc male and she won't make it to the second round .

I've seen many fighters in ufc who were good at Ju Jitsu and I've seen many get their extreme lower back kicked.

She is top class for a women -but look at how 99% women fight until they've had some training. Funny looking slaps and hair pulling .

Naw the Judo throw wasn't a show of her skill as much as it was fun to watch that guy eat his words. I don't think Ronda could beat everybody except a pro fighter, but its naive to think that most men who don't train to fight every day could beat her, unless they have more than 20 or 30 lbs on her. Like all serious MMA fighters, she trains hard and stays in fantastic shape. The reason Ronda would beat someone trained just in wrestling is the same reason most folks in MMA with just one skill set lose- she knows how to fight both standing up and on the ground, throwing hands and grappling.

She is not a wrestler, so yes a college level wrestler may beat her in wrestling but not MMA or a fight. She has to much overall skill.

Just because a "wrestler" is a wrestler doesn't mean he will "only" wrestle if he were to step into a ufc ring.
He can take someone down and rather than just try to pin them start smashing his fist into the side of opponents face now .

He no longer has the "no chocking rule" now he can wrap that big arm around the opponents neck and choke them until they collapse .

The upper body strength of well conditioned males is far beyond what a female can muster.
Many ju jitsu moves still take a lot of strength to pull off -I've seen many strong wrestlers use their strength to get out of arm bars and other submission holds.

Absolutely the he/she would beat her. It's a trained MMA fighter with the strength of a man. Ronda would be toast. A regular old wrestler or bar brawler would have their arm broken or shoulder dislocated if that's the only skills they possessed. You don't know how to defend against the whole package unless you've trained for it. She has and does.

I do not know squat about her or this womens MMA, what I do know is she is in a controlled environment and that is way different that the streets fights. I studied martial arts for 4 years and I watched some men and women who were fast and good but it was a controlled environment. I will never forget what Craig Kollars told me, "When most, not all, fighters execute an attack, they hold back out of fear of hurting someone, it is built into a lot of us, the most brutal fighters can shut this fear off while others cannot". If I were in my twenties again and still studying I would go a few rounds with her. I fought women in class and it was hard to over come my upbringing of not hitting women but I realized they wanted to be there and they ha better block.

I would venture to guess that maybe 1 out of 1000 non-professionally-trained guys could take her in a fight, whether it was organized or a street fight or whatever.

Sure, a guy that was significantly bigger than her would likely only have to land 1 good punch to knock her out...but guess what, he'd never land a single one.

Just ask that big dude with the sword tat on his chest, that also wrestled in wwf.His first fight in the ufc was ended quickly by a broken down old fighter, because of this.Second the arm bar (her #1 weapon)is not as effective in a street fight. The counter move for the arm bar is to bite the leg. That will stop the arm bar instantly.

So you're saying if she got in a street fight that she wouldn't be able to break the other persons arm,leg or choke them out because it's not a controlled environment?that the other person would be that much better of a fighter because they aren't in the ring and are in the street or bar or whatever?i don't care where she is at,you let her square up with any woman with no sucker punches or weapons and she will beat their ass every time,prison chicks,bar chicks or whoever,the everyday person just doesn't have the skillset and mind frame she has when it comes to kicking the chit out of people

Fallon Fox is not in the UFC he/she is in another organization. In which, Ronda could not fight if she wanted to because of her contract. Fallon also already has a defeat by another female in another organization inferior to the UFC. So why could Ronda not beat the he/she if it has already been beaten by another female? Which goes to your point that all men would dominate a female or whatever the point your trying to make is, the he/she has already been beaten by a she.

I don't believe Ronda can beat the majority of men trained in MMA. But I do feel she could take on 95% of untrained men in a bar fight outside of (weapons, beer bottles, group beat down).

I think what there saying is, in street fight there aint no weight class, also in the ring, you cant use certian moves. like kicking when opponent is down. elbows from the ground, eye gouge, biteing etc.etc. But if you think she can whoop one of them tutwiler gladiators that live everyday around killers that could attack at any given time, your mistaken.

Goodman,I agree there are some bad women in prison,but they just won't stack up to Rousey,she's faster,prolly stronger,just as mean and is trained in fighting,she's not a sloppy street fighter(see Kimbo slices MMA stats).as far as weight class goes it's different for woman,most that are over 160lbs are fat and out of shape unlike men where a 200lb guy would have trouble with a 240lb guy that's in shape,also with the biting, eye gouging,kicking when down and all that illegal stuff you do realize in a street fight Rousey could do that also making her even more dangerous

As far as weight classes and training go, when the UFC first started as an underground tournament , the baddest man in the world was Royce Gracie at a whopping 160 lbs. There were no weight classes and the guys Royce beat were everything from kickboxers to street fighters. I watched him destroy a 460lb guy with jujitsu in what is still one of the most brutal fights I've ever seen. He tried to rip the guys jugular vein out before the ref stopped him. An untrained big man or woman is nothing for a highly skilled MMA fighter.

Bill, that was totally different. No weight classes. No rounds, they fought until there was a winner. It was a tournament, you win, there wasn't any waiting weeks for another fight. It was going to happen within a day or 2. Todays fighter isn't built to just keep going with no time limit or round. Royce was the toughest I have ever seen. He won 3 of the first 4 tournaments. The tournament he didn't win he won the fight but was beaten so bad he couldn't continue in the tournament and had to forfit.

Yep. Today's fighter is more well rounded than the old fighters but that is how the sport evolved. Royce would be there today if he were younger.

He liked to drag people around by the hair too. There wasn't any rule about that back then either.

He used to piss me off to watch him(Gracie)...them jokers ever got close to him that was it...game over...He could take a beating though...Then folks like Tank Abbott and some others took over for a while seems like idk...Either way... Maybe in a ring but not so much in a real fight. Real fights usually take place in tight places with no room to maneuver. In such a case she would get hit and likely knocked out quick by someone a lot bigger.

There weren't any rules. He had one guy in a body lock and took his elbow and drove it straight into his temple with all the force he could muster......3 times before the ref got it stopped. I really thought that guy was dead.

Best I remember there where 2 rules: No eye gouging and no biting. Then it went to 3 rules with no groin kicks. And then to what there is now. Gracie was the toughest man of any size I have ever seen. Gracie and Rousey could produce some tough offspring.

The keywords you used were "square up", "Sucker Punches" and "Weapons", in street fighting it is no holds barred and if you do get the first punch in and follow up she would not stand a chance. Once you are hit the first time it can and most likely will stun the crap out of you, if the other fighter follows through and lands more punches and kicks your energy levels start dropping off quickly and your punches and kicks lose effectiveness, I know, I have gone several rounds with fighters before and I know first hand how quickly the fight can go south when they get in the first shot.

Abe you act like she's never been hit by the first punch before,watch some of her fights and see what happened when the other girls came in aggressive,I understand there are no rules in street fighting,but most folks that get hit with a sucker punch, or a weapon such as a stick,bat or bottle usually end up on the bad side of things,what if she sucker punched someone or cracked them over the head with a bottle?id still give her a slight advantage even in those situations,what I'm saying is if a normal person just walked up and tried to start some chit they would get dropped in a skinny minute,a normal person isn't just gonna walk up to her and start beating her ass,they may get the first punch in but they better hope they knock her out because it ain't gonna end up good for them if they don't

Two points: why y'all assuming she's never been in a street fight? Google Ronda Rousey theatre assault. Second point: I did judo in college. Every month or so we did fun night. This was where we turned all the auditorium lights out and went at it with whomever you bumped into. I'm sure she's done similar drills.
