Someone explain how each bow has different speed claims when pulling same weight and dl. I mean, how different can each one be?

And brace height. The difference between a 6" brace vs 7" brace (all else equal) is about 10 FPS IIRC.
Google "draw force curve" and it should explain the cam designs.

Bow speed is a killer topic. My old Mathews is shooting around 289 ft per at my set up. I could spend $1200 and get 20-30 more ft per second, but why ? I dont shoot long distances out of respect. i want a sure clean kill, not a deer running all over creation with an arrow hanging out. To me a quiet bow is very deadly too. Lets face it, you only get one shot if you make alot of movement and noise. Have you ever shot one that continued to graze until it bled out ? I have, so I think my quiet bow is fast enough.

Just bought a "PSE Fang" crossbow. I haven't had the speed checked on it but the manufacturer claims the top speed is 342fps at 165lb draw weight. I do know for a fact that I can use the same site alinement from 10 yards all the way up to 35 yards. Shoots very flat. Haven't shot past 35 yards yet but will as soon as I get new bolts. Group is so tight that I cut the vanes off two of my bolts and only had three to begin with.
Of all the things I've ever lost, I think I miss my mind the most.

380+- grain arrow at 315-320 fps the other day. Planning on shooting something like an easton fmj to hunt with should be considerably slower but should be able to shoot thru and engine block
We will burn that bridge when we get there

I just picked up a Drenalin I hope it's as fast as my old Ultratec and as quiet as my old Switchback
