Numerous threads in the past 6 months. Maybe someone can post them. I have one with 90000 miles and no problems what so ever. It pulls better and rides better than my last f150 5.0 that I ran for 300000 miles.

My nephew has one with @ 25k miles. Its been back to the dealership about 10 times. The gas mileage keeps getting worse. He is currently getting 8 mpg. They have checked it every time and say they cant find anything wrong and they havent offered to do anything to help him. I have a 2011 FX4 with the 5.0 and 100k miles. No problem so far. I get 16ish mpg with 35 inch mudders.

Are the 2.7 only in the 2015? I have an ecoboost 2013 that is OK. I believe its bigger though. The only motor issue is there can be a slight delay when you gun it but when it takes off it will fly. The rest of the truck is crap as far as I'm concerned though.

I agree. I have one that will pull great and runs like a scalded dog. I love it. The miles per gallon is nowhere close to what Ford claimed. I have larger tires and drive fairly conservatively and still only get around 14 mpg

Likely no one in this thread has one, its brand new for 2015. Unless it's a turbo diesel, I don't trust anything with a turbo on it. I am a ford guy, but I give each brand its due and chevy's new engine offerings are mighty tempting. That ecotec v8 they offer is sweet and gets better mileage than the twin turbo ecoboost v6. If you must get a turbo'ed truck then run mobil 1 in it only IMO.

From what I've read, its soon to be the only option from ford.

Why would you change to an unknown if the 5.0 gave you 300,000 miles? And pay more too...?

I have my doubts that the turbo charged 6 cylinders can/will hold up for the longevity of 300K miles.

I test drove them both, the 5.0 was very unresponsive and hard to pass people on the interstate. The eco boost rode so much better, handled better, reacted better. That test drive sold me on it that's all I can say. Then I hooked a boat to the back of it and it hauled like a 250 or 2500 does and still got 13 mpg towing a 21 ft ranger.

As for the price I wanted one for less than $40,000. I got mine for $39,000, loaded lariet package and all. I did not price the 5.0 I just wanted to be under my budget.

Time will tell if it is a better truck than my last one, so far I have had no problems with the eco boost other than one loose wire that the dealership fixed free of charge and had a tune up at 75000 miles. With my 5.0 I had replaced one transmission At 57000 miles and another at 114000, so at this point the eco is winning

That's the same boat I'm in put nitto s on it and I'm lucky if I get 15 mpg but man it's a pulling machine
