We built a single phase line under one of TVA high line. Befor we made the line hot I decided to check voltage on the primary just to see how many volts the high lines static was putting off. 396 volt phase to pole ground.

I have no idea what that means but bet it would hurt really bad if it went to ground thru you. Be careful out there!

I wonder how much current you could get out of it continuously?

Wish I would have had a pig tail wired up to a light bulb. It wouldn't have been bright but I bet there would have been a little light

Static induction can be deadly IF all the right things fall into place. When I worked at BMTC we had aerial telephone cable(it's still there) with a TVA line crossing it at 90*. If you were working that immediate area and touched the messenger it would light your ass up.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Built some chicken houses just off ROW of some high voltage lines and the static electricity the tin tops conducted would lite you up till we got them grounded good.
