That is Common Plantain. It will flat out take a hay field over if not sprayed. I have had good luck keeping this plant under control with 24D mixed pretty strong. However, Grazonext works better but it also cost twice as much as 24D. If left alone a couple of years it will eventually kill all your grass. The Plantain has a very big root system and it will steal all the water and nutients from other grasses.

You can do the research yourself using google but I'll tell you my experience. 2,4D did not kill the white clover in my lawn at home. I wanted it to. I was trying to kill dandelions and other weeds in my lawn including unwanted clover. Dandelions were gone and the clover came back. After experiencing this, I read more about it and found some research from UGA that confirmed that white clover was more resistant to 2,4D.
Lastly, I sprayed our Yuchi clover plots this spring with 2,4DB and it killed them dead as a hammer. I was surprised. The small amount of naturally occurring white clover appears to have survived but the Yuchi is gone. I even sprayed at a little less than full recommended rate. I used 1 1/4 qts. per acre. The directions call for 1-2 per acre. My reasoning was that I could get two full 50gal tanks of herbicide by using a 1 1/4/acre rate from my 2.5gal jug.
These are just my experiences. The 2,4DB may have killed my clover due to stress. When I sprayed, I didn't know we would go 11 straight days without rain. I've read lots of people having good success with the DB, maybe I was just unlucky.
