Anybody else see the gobbler up against the guard rail on I65 at 157 south bound. Girlfriend said he looked scared and wanted to save it. I asked her if she knew turkeys had spurs. Just letting yall know there might be fresh road kill out there.

Probably one Wilborne turned loose in his efforts to restock Cullman with turkeys. He's turned them loose over the entire county. Just ask the folks who live at Terri Pines. Needs to be arrested

If he's turning them loose on his property (owned or leased), really ain't no ones business. Are they terrifying those poor folk at terri pines...those gawd awful gobblers. smile

If he turns them loose just across my property line it is definitely my business. I've spent years developing idea turkey habitat and have lots of wild birds. Last thing I want is a bunch of disease infested domestic birds turned loose next to my place.

i understand what you're saying...but at the same time, if he turns the birds loose on a 20 or 40 acre tract...it's still his land.

That's interesting. It's quite rare for one to be in that part of the county.

Did not realize it was illegal? Kind of a vague statement..."wild areas of Alabama". Why not word it "IT IS ILLEGAL TO RELEASE WILD OR TAME TURKEY IN THE STATE OF ALABAMA"?

It's illegal to even own a turkey in Alabama that has wild bloodlines.

All the hatcheries sell turkey chicks and pullets from wild strains but at the bottom it has a list of states they won't ship to and Alabama is one of them.

Oh and I have a half dozen or so turkeys I acquired from Dennis last year. They are all bronze birds with buff tips like a Merriam. If he were turning those birds out like you say it would be quite evident.

You got any pics of these buff tipped birds you have harvested off of your property that Dennis has supposedly turned out? Just curious whether you have any proof to your claim.

Is Dennis really Jody? Cause you have had it out for him a while. Just wandering. And is there any proof of anything??

What "proof" is required that someone is growing and releasing turkeys into the wild? If it will result in a conviction, I can provide names of folks who have been sold pen raised birds and told to release them into the wild to establish a huntable turkey population. Easier just to ride by his store & walk around back. He use to have a sign in front of his store advertising turkeys for sale. Game wardens in Cullman know what's going on

I'm still curious how it would affect river wood in a negative manner IF Dennis is actually doing that.
