Do you hunt for the meat as purely a food source, and respect game laws? Do you hunt to kill big bucks and numbers don't mean anything to you? Or do you hunt to eradicate the entire herd from your land, and could care less about laws or what anybody thinks? I personally do a little of all 3. Love to eat deer, love to hunt big bucks, and also love to kill deer for farmers who want them gone and I eat them, where as they just kill them and let them lay. Got different tracts of land for all 3.
What's your style of hunting?

A mix of 1&2. Never have done 3 even when we hunted south alabama, and saw deer 99.9 percent of the time.

I don't think your #3 is worded correctly. I don't think anyone hunts to eradicate them. Control them, yes, such as they are trying to do at Oak Mountain State Park.

It's worded correctly I personally don't hunt to eradicate them, but I hunt a good bit for a guy that wants them eradicated, I just kill as many as I can legally and enjoy the meat. Now on the other hand he kills any and everything that walks because that's cutting into his profit. He doesn't hunt for fun or anything else other than wiping them out, but surprisingly he's killed some nice bucks.

1 and 2 we kill 4-6 does a year for meat and the last two years I've killed 2 bucks. I'd rather let bucks walk unless they're mature but will kill a 2 1/2 year old if the club is killing every other one I let walk.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

I'm a trophy buck hunter, pure and simple and don't apologize to anyone for it. I do not waste any meat. A friend gives me some extra deer to fill the freezer. I could go to my grave and never shoot another doe or small buck and be happy.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Meat hunter unless I get an opportunity to be a trophy hunter, such as getting to hunt someone else's land. Ended up killing two small bucks last year in AL, but that's all that presented a shot. Watched a number of does here in NC but where I hunt has a very limited number of doe days. I would rather take does but got to play by the rules. I've killed a couple Wiley old bucks and I do enjoy hunting trophy deer, but my hunting time has gotten awful slim the past few years. Meat is the number one priority.

Both 1 and 2. I kill 5-6 deer for the freezer every year. If one or two of those are bucks that's great if not I'll shoot my 5-6 does and then it's time for horn hunting...

I kill lots of does and mature bucks. That's what makes me happy. If I didn't have to kill as many does I'd rather not, but where I hunt it's absolutely necessary.

This is absolutely the way I feel. Doe's are what has them trophy bucks, I will never shoot another one. Mature bucks or culls only for this ole boy.

I couldn't care less about "trophy hunting". I know some ppl like it, and thats fine, but it just aint for me. I don't have the time or money to dedicate to it. Even, if I did, i still wouldn't.

I hunt a couple small tracts and public land and share that with family. Strictly trophy hunting just isn't practical. Ill shoot a racked buck if the shot presents its self, if not, ill shoot ( or preferably, let my son shoot) 2-3 deer and be done with it.

Beagles have taken a huge chunk out of deer hunting and now I also have a squirrel dog project.

I hunt for mature bucks whether that means they score 75" or 150". I will shoot a couple does for meat but I mainly hunt for the chance to kill a real nice buck.

1&2 I try to kill three deer a year to eat as that is about all me and my wife can eat. I only shoot bucks that I am going to mount in some form. But that is just me I know people that do all three and a cpl that just like to kill and it is all about numbers to each there own I just don't want to hunt with people that hunt that way so I don't join clubs where that is an issue.

Well I'm about like yourself ,I said I was like you but now I'm a buck hunter mostly I swill shoot a doe but usefully only in bow season their reason I stopped killing everything that walks is partly due to my injury to my hand I have about 700 acres to hunt but it is not in all their same area I got a neighbor who is a big farmer he said 3 years ago he killed 13 deer in summertime I had a couple huge bucks I had been after I used to like the idea of getting a crop damage permit but if it is close to were you mainly hunt it ends up being a huge problem because you can't identify what deer you are shooting out of the guy that killed them 13 deer 7 of them were grown buck,so and 2 were the big bucks I had been after for years in summer bucks don't have horns to identify. And then 6 does he cut them open all of them were pregnant with twins the following hunting season was the worst I ever had so from then on I had I used to kill 20 deer a year bit the way I see it if farmers kill all the deer in the summer then how are the population gonna maintain itself just my thoughts let me know your thinking of this. I really like the hunting but as I get older the urge to pull the trigger has diminished greatly. Would love to kill a nice mature buck occasionally and have no problem shooting does, just would rather watch em do their thing. I like to eat them so I let guests who want too shoot a few a year and tax them for half the meat.

Neither. The only reason I go hunting these days is to take one of my grandchildren, and they can shoot whatever they like as far as I am concerned.

I shoot a couple of does the first week, then I am buck hunting till the end of the season. My adv. is about 1 per year.

I enjoy mechanics of a hunt, to track & find them , is good for me ,But I will harvest for friends who wants a deer & I will take down yotes,& a badly hurt deer. It just feels good to be in the wild.
