Just curious - are you thinking of using the well that's getting the discharged heat for your hot water heater source? You might save a little gas or electricity with the HW tank starting off with slightly warmer water.
Of course it's probably inconsequential compared to the savings you'll enjoy in the winter when an air exchange heat pump won't work well and you'd otherwise burn so much more gas and/or electricity to heat the house.

I don't have one but know several that do. The love the system but they say they will never see the $$ return on the investment, financially speaking. Check with your insurance company to make sure they will cover it without a special rider.

You will be limited on contractors that will service or install them. You may want to consider variable speed inverter systems if you are willing to spend the money. x2 GeoThermal is great but I would figure up all of the costs involved and see how long it will actually take to start "Saving Money" Of course, You are ahead of the game if you already have wells dug, etc and don't have to deal with having a lot of land work done. Trane & American Standard have Great Systems at around 20seer right now using Inverter technology. These things are awesome. I'm not very familiar with the other brands. http://www.americanstandardair.com/produ...heat-pump-.html
The fool tells me his reasons; the wise man persuades me with my own.
