Do you wear sunscreen? Not on my eyes. I do believe your eyes can get sun burned too and damage accumulates.

In the fishing section of Wal Mart they have the $4.75 rack. They work fine and if I lose one it doesn't matter. Precisely. I go through sunglasses like razors. They last me a few weeks and they get lost, broken, scratched, or run over. I ain't paying more than $10 for a pair. I had my eye doc UV check my $4.99 Berkleys for me. They blocked 99% UVA/UVB and said they were fine to wear. I wore those and ones like them for a LONG time. When I started wearing polarized sunglasses there wasn't much to chose from. I've owned no telling how many pairs of Bill Dance sunglasses. There may have been better ones back then but I couldn't have afforded them. My problem with them now is I can't find a pair that the lenses are high enough quality to not cause distortions in my sight, or defects in the lenses. I've tried them many times and have not been able to get a good pair. Even tried the "higher end" ones and still no good ones. If I'm outside, which is most of the time, I wear sunglasses. I can't stand seeing blemish or defect through the lens. I guess I've been lucky. I've not had that problem. I work outside in the sun nearly every day, looking through surveying equipment and reading construction plans.

Costas for me. Just had a pair break(lenses cracked when I dropped them). I had them for nine years, and I wear them just about every single day. When I sent them to be repaired, they said that style is discontinued but they wod give me whatever style I wanted for what it would have cost to replace my lenses, $60. If I wanted, I could upgrade to 580 for $20 more. I found me a new style and plan to have these for just as long.
Costa customer service has been great. Only used them this time and one other, but that is just a testament of what a quality product they have. And like I said, I wear glasses just about everyday from when I was a deckhand, to fishing offshore, working construction, to working at Southeastern Pond Management now. I really put them through the wringer. I have a pair of cables attached to them and if they aren't on my eyes, they are on the back of my neck. Never lost a pair yet

We just took on a new line of Sun Glasses called Breakline. Zeiss Optics makes their lens. They are polarized with mirror and non-mirror lens. They come with a one time replacement warranty and a limited life time warranty. Most all the glasses run around $150.00. We carry Costa, also. AL DEER Members always get a discount.
