The US House has voted to remove labels that tell us where meat came from.

http://www.waff.com/story/29109758/house-panel-votes-to-repeal-country-origin-meat-labeling-law

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I think under this Trans Atlantic Trade Agreement that the US has given over its sovereignty when it comes to our food supply. I will admit I just glanced over an article that mentioned something to that effect so I could be off base. I think it said this trade union was going to say we could no longer require origin labeling on our food products. Fits in well with Monsanto and George Soros but I'm just a kooky conspiracy theorist. crazy

I think we just lost a lawsuit brought by Canada and Mexico that forces us to remove the country of origin label requirement on meats. The congress is just complying with the WTO to avoid sanctions.

That being said, we still shouldn't be taking this kind of chit from these or any country.

More of a reason to stock up on deer meat. I know where it came from.

The majority of the meat I eat is something I killed or caught, not too worried about it.

Looks like American packers would still put it on their labels as a selling point.

I had this experience yesterday. I was buying some sardines. I will not buy sardines from China, any south Asian country, or any South American country. I will buy them from USA, Germany, Canada, Norway, etc... countries with high food standards. Now I guess I will not be buying sardines anymore unless they have a label which means I will be paying a higher price.

This entire deal is going down just like NAFTA did. Bush Sr pushed it but his own party blocked it. Clinton got it passed first thing after he was elected. Now Obama is pushing it and his own party is against it but we are pretty sure a RHINO is going to be elected so this will be passed as soon as that one gets in office.

unfortunately, there probably will be a law against doing this. i'm sure other countries will claim this gives American Packers an unfair advantage.

So, I'm guessing that the FDA will be able to know what country the meat comes from but US citizens won't. How else would they track down contaminated meat sources when that occurs? Or will the just stop doing that?

I posted a link to this meat labeling/ global "free trade" article the other day in this thread:

http://www.aldeer.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1353201#Post1353201

It is the last post in that thread and I pointed out that that is what these "free trade" deals do: they create supranational government and COURTS OVER America - and they make anti American rulings like "you can't put made in America" on your products!!!!!!!!! The WTA and NAFTA "free trade" treaty was held by the international judicial body to OVERRIDE AND CANCEL FEDERAL FOOD LABELING LAW!

And MOST Republicans in Congress, not just Obamaite globalist socialist liberals, are in favor of this sovereignty destroying SHEEEEAT treaties.

Under Article 6 of the U.S. Constitution treaties become "the supreme law of the land."

Also, please note that only about 4 business/companies in America control the whole meat industry AND THEY WERE IN FAVOR OF THE LABELING RESTRICTION - they are all anti American globalist now!.
