The headlight restore post reminded me of an idea I had.

Back in the 90's I had a camaro that I babied. A buddy convinced me to apply this special protectant to the paint that would supposedly give it a mirror shine and remove all swirls. You know the story.

This stuff was a runny clear liquid that you apply to a special white sponge applicator then applied to your paint in straight lines. The finish was not as advertised. It was fairly tough finish when dry and had to be buffed off of the paint.

Since that time I have thought of a couple of good uses for it such as headlights. Anybody know what the name of the product I'm talking about.

I believe you could buy it from normal stores like any car care product.

Not sure of the name but I use a product called ICE and have used it for years now.You can put it on black plastic, glass, rubber and your paint job.It works great!I am probably a little over the top about babying my vehicles but I think its the ocd.I even wax my riding mower and atv with the stuff and it dries clear.

If you believe it worked great for paint, it can't be the same product. smile This stuff left a streaky finish. It turned out like a wipe on clear coat.

The 'Maro had a pretty good shine to it anyway. Not sure why I thought I could improve it. It was a nightmare getting it off.
