Mine (same year model and engine) has never skipped a beat. 1,567,293 miles on it and still going strong! The only thing I've had to replace is the tires about every 500k

The only thing I've had to replace is the tires about every 500k Gotta be Michelins Yea the pair that I'm running now I found in my back yard dry rotted with about 20 percent tread left on them and the way it's looking they are only gonna make it to around 375k before I have to swap em!

My Dad was born in 47 and has one that was given to him at birth. He applied for social security and was denied. He registered the truck and now he gets double! He drives it down to their office in Bessemer every month because he's afraid the mailman will break down.

I have a '52 model with 17 light years on it.
Just put my first set of brake pads on 'er last week...figured I might as well rotate the tires while I was at it.

I've got a 55 model.... It came with an auto pilot system in it.. I can nap....get drunk...sleep...and get kinky with the wife in the bed of the truck and never lay a hand on the steering wheel and always arrive on time...

If I remember right, in 1955 they had the optional ky dispensor in the glove box but the rear end was bad about getting loose.
