How are the deer here, especially Headland to Abbeville areas in Houston and Henry counties?

What an idiot. Sounds like he takes his deer hunting a lot more seriously than I do.

I could be wrong, but I think that happened after we banned him from ALdeer.

Like everywhere else, just depends on where you are and how much pressure your neighbors are putting on them. There are more "big blocks" of woods the further north you go into Henry County. Lots of farming and smaller blocks of woods around Headland towards Newville. Good hunting and plenty of deer around the Choctawhattchee and Chattahoochee.

Never heard of the incident until now. What a dumbshit! He is lucky to still be breathing.

In regards to the Yeager guy, Why would someone lease 200 acres adjoining a dog hunting club 30+ years old and expect the dogs not to cross his lease? He obviously handled the situation all wrong and is lucky to be alive.

I had 125 acres a little east and north of Blue Springs in Henry county. Here's a couple of pix of what my buddy and I killed a couple of seasons ago:

Yes, I like Henry county!!

Hunting is as good as any in this part of the state. Seems more big deer closer to Eufaula and higher numbers towards haleburge. Closer to the river the better

It's not black belt good, but it's good hunting if you have a well managed lease. It depends what area you are in. There are parts of Houston and Henry county with barely any deer, especially close to Dothan where there is not much cover due to agriculture.

Here are some I have taken from the Gordon area in the last 3 years. right on the Hooch!

And this one came from Pike Co. outside of Troy.

His neck is red as Alabama clay
Now he's goin' home this time to stay
Where the roots run deep on the family tree
And the tractor rolls through the fields of green
