If either of you manage to get in touch with Mr Mathews (a very nice guy, by the way) ask him to tell you the story of his father and the land they built the Spanish Fort Bass Pro Shops on. It's great.

I talk to Hooper all the time. Have hunted with them quite a bit in the past. As has already been said, it's invitation only. They don't "look" for members...don't have to.

Good luck. I tried to get in touch with them 2 years ago when I moved to Alabama. Never did have much success. As indicated, I believe it's an initiation club and they own most of the property they hunt. Pretty sure they own ALL the property they hunt...several thousand acres.

I love the rut. The woods are like a bunch of roided up meatheads fighting over a girl.
