About 5 this evening I went to Petco in Guntersville to get a bag of TOTW for my dog. As soon as the automatic door slid open I see 2 ugly women, a mom and daughter, and a Pitt Bull at the counter. The mom is slapping the dog in the face and jerking it's leash while telling it to behave. I also noticed that other customers were giving a wide berth to that trio. I went back and got my bag of dog food and made my way back up front to check out and they were still there. A young couple had gotten in line in front of me and immediately behind the Pitt family. The guy had a 50lb bag of food and kept it between himself and the Pitt while staying about 10 feet back. The dog is checking all of us out and 'mom' is still jerking the leash a little. I reached in my pocket and realized that my pistol and knife were in the truck. I spotted a couple of potential weapons for worst case scenario but finally the Pitt family left. The young guy looked at me and nodded. I just acknowledged him and shook my head. After that he never made eye contact with me again. Made me wonder if he didn't also have one at home and disapproved of my observation of the Pitt.
Anyway, I'll never go back in there without my pistol in my pocket.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

It must suck to live in a state of constant fear. No fear here just a little under prepared. It must really suck to underestimate people on the internet.

I had a similar experience in the same store, but it was a young couple with one of the popular "blue" pit bulls on a flimsy leash that the girl was having difficulty controlling the dog with. It was a fairly young dog but was checking everyone out with an aggressive look on its face. I spotted a couple of potential weapons as well. I had my son Tyler with me and he doesn't understand about dogs like that. I kept myself between the dog and Tyler and didn't feel comfortable at all until they left.

Had a similar experience at pet store...guy had a pit in line...I kept a respectable, obvious distance from his dog...on a ridiculous chain etc...guy said ..."aw he don't bite"...I replied as cold as possible with no facial expression (except my built in Army NCO scowl..."he wont bite but once...I promise you that"...
Me thinks he got the hint Neighbor has one that'll be headed across 'pitbull Rainbow Bridge'...next time he comes thru my yard...

Like I posted on the other forum, WHY do the people that own them for anything other than hog catch dogs fell the need to go out in public with them and display them. Is it because they have small peckers and the dog makes them feel masculine, don't make very much money so it makes them feel important, want to mesh into the gangsta rap video lifestyle?? They're all F'ing IDIOTS. I have enough brain capacity to know it's not a good idea to take a pit bull to f'ing Petco, or for a peaceful stroll through the neighborhood, but evidently those that do own them, are more inbred than the dog.

No, I think it's fine to use them for hog hunting. I've hog hunted before and they were hunting dogs. I'm saying that it is disrespectful to walk them around a neighborhood or take them to the store around other dogs and children. 2 people within an hour of my house have been killed by pits, search WTVM news. I agree any dog can bite or attack, heck, I got bit by a chihuaha mix while I was in college, and it was a pretty bad bite, but I was in the home of the person that owned it. We had our family dog attacked by a Rottwieler, and spent 6500 keeping it alive, and the guy that owned the dog said, '' he's never done that before ''. Yeah, it could have been a lab or a walker hound that attaked our dog, but in the 2 deaths, and the one that costs us 6500, both breeds were the top of the list for snapping. Sorry if I offended anybody, but I have to deal with this in my neighborhood, and worry about my 72 year old dad walking his dog alone.

to answer you morningAir. The reason people take there dogs to places like that. Its called socialization. Which is required with most breeds.I figured a dog physcologist such as yourself would know that

I take my blue pit into Petco 2x a month for baths and the store employees love to see him come in, and seriously everyone who see this dog comments on how disciplined and beautiful he is. Hell he could probably win the west minster title.
