Not to hijack the other thread but got me to thinking. If you had a buck of 140" coming into a field every afternoon, sure kill, and someone offered you $4000 to let them shoot it, would you take the money or shoot it yourself? I actually had similar situation last season and offered to let a special needs child shoot it for free but couldn't find one that was able to hunt.

I'd snatch the $4k out of their hand before they could change their mind.

I've not had a buck of that caliber to make the decision, and I would never advertise a buck like that "for sale" but I have passed several 125" bucks over the course of several days waiting for out of town friends to make it. One was a beautiful mainframe 8 with split 2's making him a 10. My buddy finally made it in town and gut shot him the first day at 200 yards. Never found him. The second was an 18" 8 point, big, fat, 5.5 year old. Passed him 4 times one week waiting. Another buddy finally made it and we set up on him the first morning he came which was a Saturday morning. Several people hunting and another member killed him 400 yards from us as he crossed a powerline heading right to our set.

You trying to get a kid on a buck like that speaks volumes for your character.

I would put them in the stand, load their gun, track it,drag it , load it on the UTV, transfer it to the truck and drive them all to the processor.

No, there is no right or wrong answer. Some people value $4000 more than a 140" deer and some value a 140" deer more than $4000. Its either your hunting land or your money, nothing illegal, and no one elses business what your decide.

I prefer cash but would take a GOOD check.
