I have a bee smoker and it works great for smoking up my clothes and all my gear. It's a natural over powering smell that deer are not spooked by. Anyone that has ever been around a camp fire knows that smoke will permiate everything. Sometimes you can still smell the smoke even after the clothes are washed. Because it's so overpowering I believe it works better than anything else to help camoflage human scent. But, the guy that I am talking about has 3 or 4 deer over 180''. One is from private land the rest are public land kills.
