Coyote's are harder to catch. Cats will let curiosity get them in trouble. I think that's part of what makes them more fun to catch. You can hang visual attractors like Christmas tinsel and build cubbys for cats to walk through with exposed traps!

Had another coon today and a trap missed at a dirt hole. I really think a deer or hog stepped in it. The bait was still in the hole and no sign of digging.

Congrats on the catches guys! Going to the convention this weekend so it'll be Monday before I get after them again.

K double your chain wrap around the base of the tree! I've caught a bunch in dp traps and have never had one climb like that!

Rather than threading one end through the other loop like I normally do I just wrapped around the tree and quick linked both ends to the swivel leaving a large loop. First and last time to do that. Thought my trap was gone, looked around thinking it might be tangled in some brush. Nothing. Walked back to truck and looked back at site and noticed the coon 20 feet off the ground. Had a good laugh at myself for doing that.

I played around with a dp last year and about had the same thing happen. My problem was I put it around a cedar that I "thought" was big enough to hold one. Well it was big enough, but just barely. There was not a leaf and hardly a limb left on that cedar sapling when I got to it, lol.

[img:center] [/img] Caught a female yote today. Don't know why but I had a big smile on my face when I gave her a headache.
