It takes a sorry, low down son of a gun to steal a man's deer. Hope they find the culprit and the deer.

I posted pics...the second one the deer's eye is green...must be the beginning of the deer zombie apocalypse....

I had my first buck taken from me on Skyline waaay back in the day. I was a trusting kid and the old guy that offered to help was a POS!!!! I learned a little trick from another fellow after recanting that story around a campfire. He said to pry his mouth open and put something in the back of his throat to id him if you catch up with the thief. Most stealing a deer would never have reason to open his mouth up and look in all the way to the taxidermist. It could be as small as a small sharpened stick with a couple notches cut out etc. I hope ya'll find this deer and this guy gets what he's got coming to him.

Someone stole a kid's first buck off the back of a guys truck at a restaurant in Jackson, Al a few years ago. Guy didn't realize it until he got home ( about an hour away). He immediately made a bunch of flyers up with a picture of his son holding the deer and explained about it being his son's first buck. He drove back to Jackson and put them up all over town. The guy that stole it called him up and took the deer to Baldwin County to return it.

Unlikely this would happen again, but it's worth a shot.

Sad SOB right there.

I had a full grown 8 point caped head stolen from a processor a few years ago. I hope ya fine him and fold the thief's teeth back in his head, give him a kick in the nuts for me.

The sad thing is that even if he is caught nothing much will happen. You might get your deer meat back but he will only get a slap on the wrist.

It's illegal to sell game meat in Alabama so how could a judge assign a value to the deer which means the lowest of the theft charges. Unless he had priors, nothing much would happen.
