JW OP 10 point J Joined: Oct 2000 Posts: 4,386 Scottsboro,Alabama	I usually buy all stainless rifles, but I found a really nice blued one today and bought it. It has several small rust spots that won't just rub off like most I have fooled with in the past. How can I fix these and save the bluing?

BucksvilleFatboy 10 point Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 2,684 McCalla, Al.	NO STEEL WOOL!!!!!!!!! That ruins the bluing. Hoppes makes a "lead and rust" rag that works great and doesn't scratch the gun. It also doesn't take any blue off the area that is not rusty. You can then touch it up with bluing pen if you want to. STeel wool is BAD! Step away from the steel wool.................
