I am on several traditional groups but couldn't find one just devoted to alabama so I went ahead and made one its alabama traditional archery . I am going to try included guys from tennesse as well

They want you to do that here, not fb. I think it be cool to have a place on here just for traditional guys . Facebook is so much easier to load pics and to keep up with for me. it's just a thought I had. it may never take off

There was a thread about fb recently and the summary was this: taking aldeer content to fb is taking traffic away from here and decreases sponsors, which is critical to keep this site going.
I'm not telling you what to do just FYI. I think they are working on the upgrade for pics ect.
Worthwhile read if you can find it. I didn't realize that thanks for the info. this is a great site as well.

have any of you ever made a long bow? I got my eye on a nice hedge apple (osage orange) tree that is straight up to about 7' and has some straight grain. I make them all the time,and have some hedge apple already in the drying stages,also have some hickory,and winged elm.Where are you located?

Osage bow I took to Zimbabwe Africa in 05'  nice looking bow,very nice shape at full draw.

I make all my stone points, and hunt with them prolly half the time I bowhunt. I've killed a dozen+ deer/hogs/turkey with stone points, mostly out of Osage bows.
Arras I make out of River Cane shafts, or some store bought shafts of hickory and Lodgepole Pine. Hickory is heavy and unbreakable.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

it's pretty dang simple if yer working Osage after ya et to one continuous ring for the length of the bow..
Come to Tannehill next month, there will be folks selling Osage staves and you can get some help on making a bow.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....
