I wouldn't throw them away, see how your gun shoots them and if good see how they do on a deer for you. No, not gonna throw em out. I know they will kill a deer, ANY bullet will with proper placement. Just concernd about group size. Some people say 4"-5" groups out of their 7mm-08. Speaking of shooting, can someone give me directions to Cahaba range or got a place close to Chelsea were I could sight in his rifle? Ne scope supposed to be here Monday. Hope to sight it in Tuesday morning and get a hunt in Tuesday afternoon

guns are like people: they don't like to eat the same things as other guns do. with factory ammo, i always start with winchester power points. they are my baseline. if a rifle doesn't like them, i'll try a different bullet weight in the same brand. if that's a no go, then it's on to a different brand. different companies use different bullets, different powders, different brass, different pressures, different primers, different bullet seating depth, etc. believe it or not, a change in primers, with everything else the same, can make a big difference in group size.

Cahaba Range if coming from Chelsea: Take 11 towards Pelham, Turn Right on 52 and go over interstate, take right on 31 and first left at traffic light in front of Home Depot. Follow that road until it dead ends by post office in Helena and turn left. Follow that road(Coalmont Road but don't know if it's marked that way) until it turns into dirt and go another 1/2 mile and range is on your right marked well by signs.

I know this, what I am asking is if you shoot the same ammo out of different guns(same caliber), what makes the guns shoot them differently??

I think it has to do with the bullet profile. My TC likes a square back bullet, no boat tail or tapered back style bullet shot well for some reason outof it

depends on what day of the week the gun was made on..... ALL of em shoot differently, even shotguns. I went thru three Rem 870 Magnum full choke barrels to find one that would pattern buckshot tightly. You'd of thought they would all shoot the same???? Not so...

I wouldn't throw them away, see how your gun shoots them and if good see how they do on a deer for you. The original sst shot great for me..The superformance shot horrible out of My same rifle I was very disappointed..But I tried it in my son's encore 7mm08 & it shoots good, so needless to say I gave him the shells

I had the same issue with the SST out of my sons 708. Loved the customs but hated the superformance. The reviews on midway are a good starting point. One of the issues I had was I had 2 different model 708's that I hoped to find one bullett that each liked. Saw a lot of good reviews on the fusion and with sone luck they both shot 1-1.5in groups. Give them a try if the Superformance doesn't perform well.
As far as why bullets perform different, the are a ton of factors to consider. What Paul has already mentioned right on. I had a very knowledgeable guy tell me once that 2 identical rifles coming off the assembly line back to back could shoot the same bullet differently. One may like core locks when the other may hate them. Even though they try to make every rifle on the line identical, there could and will always be small differences in each of them which will affect affect bullet performance.
Fortunately we live in a time where the internet can have some useful info which can save time and money.
