If it's a big bodied deer, we'll weigh it. Otherwise, no. Same here. I have cotton scales we hoist a big one up with. I love to see the scales hit the 200 mark! We haven't killed a small deer in years, but we would not weigh them. We only shoot mature deer here by the house and every one we shoot here go over 200 easily. Corn and soybeans have a way of packing on deer fat.
I can't stand a thief.

At the club every deer gets weighed jaw pulled and racks recorded. Before hunting here the majority of the time no.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

When you weigh every deer killed, and i'm talking several hundred, you get pretty good at guessing the live weights of deer, of different ages. We always guess the weight before we hoist it up, and it never fails, the younger hunters and even the older guys who have never been around scales, always guess high. Sometimes, as much as 25-30lbs high.

We don't kill but one or two deer a year. We guess their weights, then weight them. We are usually dead on with our guesses.

We weigh every deer and record it in a log. I still pull jaw bones on some bucks just for my own info.

All bucks and the large does that look like they may field dress over 100 lbs.
