Apparently the kid had never been taught right from wrong. Knowing what he admitted he knew, he basically stole 20 grand from his neighbor. As a parent I would hope my son would make better choices than this. People forget their raising when wood goat season comes in.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

I'm wondering what the loss of property laws are in his state?
At times my ambition far exceeds my talent.

Lost in the debate over douchebaggery or not is the kids age. We all did stupid things we shouldn't have when we were young. If he has any outdoors ethics, or develops any, he will one day regret shooting his neighbors "livestock".
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Does the state own game animals or do they not? Was the kid legally able to hunt the area he killed it? If you buy it, breed it and keep it in a pen, is it a game animal or livestock?
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I'm thinking the kid will end up paying the owner,he knew it was his escaped deer and the deer was tagged just like cattle, the kid already admitted he knew it was the escaped deer, now if he would have had no knowledge of it being a tame deer then that's a different story He should have kept his mouth and trail cam pics quiet. "High fence buck, heck I didn't know". " Ear tag, what ear tag, I didn't see no ear tag?"
"Why do you ask"?

Me either. He should have kept quiet, cause we won't be on the jury.
