For every Alabama buck over 140 inches, there is very likely one on the other end of the bell curve that won't even score 90 inches. Here is one such deer. Mature buck that weighed 202 lbs. How many of guys have killed 200+ lb deer that didn't score 90 inches?

I killed a 195 lb 5 year old that scored less than 60. I've got one on camera right now that won't score 30.

It seems to be slowly changing some but I think all the hype of big bucks on TV has really skewed people's perception as to what is realistic. I don't guess I've ever scored this one but I'd say he'd be lucky to go much over 90 inches. A 4 1/2 year old....weight 197 lbs. There was another one with him that was nearly identical.

Y'all got some bad genetics. Seriously, those are good deer.

Y'all got some bad genetics. Nope, I think that's the norm. If you're fortunate to hunt where it's not, consider yourself blessed. Most of our 200 lb deer are going to score 110-125. I would venture to say we probably have more 100+\-, 4 year ods than 140" 4 year olds. My son killed a 190lb deer over Thanksgiving. If he went 80", I'd be real surprised. I personally laid eyes on 3 bucks last year that were 225lbs plus. 5 year olds, no doubt. One was a four point and 2 were 6's. None of them would have broken 75"s.
Ya'll are just overthinking it now

I killed one that field dressed 165 lbs that might hit 70" and couple more that are probably 85-90".

I killed several six and seven year old bucks on my place at Leeds that scored 100-110", big bodied 180-210 pound OLD bucks. We had a bad six point genetic line there as well. Great BIG six pointers. And then we had those nice BIG ten point genetics too to make it worthwhile....
